Designer Hitoshi Shimazaki continues to transmit from his hometown Amami Oshima with his own sense.
Everest, the highest mountain in the Himalayas, was called Devadurga in Sanskrit.
It has the meaning of a sacred mountain, the pinnacle of the world.
With this meaning in his brand name, he continues to propose unique outdoor styles using mud dyeing and indigo dyeing, which is a traditional craft of Amami from Japan to the world.
What is [mud dyeing]?
A traditional industry that Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture is proud of in the world [Oshima Tsumugi]
It is one of the production processes and is a dyeing method with a history of 1300 years.
Using the "Techi tree" native to Amami Oshima and the iron-rich mud that is made only in Amami, all are dyed by hand.
Since the use of no chemical dyes, there is no harm to the environment, allergic substances are not mixed at all.
It is a unique dyeing method that contains many advantages such as deodorant effect and insect repellent effect.
