What is NANGA?
We are a sleeping bag manufacturer born in 1941 by our predecessor, Akira Yokota, from the feather town of Omi, where cotton futons were produced.
The company name "Nanga" comes from "Nanga Parbat" in the Himalayas.
Nanga Parbat is the 9th highest mountain in the world at an altitude of 8,126m, and is also feared as the "Man-Eating Mountain", referring to the difficult-to-climb mountain that has caused many people to lose their lives. It embodies the founder Akira Yokota's idea of ``Let's do it because it's difficult, and climb where no one else can.''
NANGA's specialty is feathers.
With the know-how in selecting, washing, and managing feathers that we have cultivated over many years, we are able to continue producing warmer feather products.
