What is DEVADURGA?
Designer Hitoshi Shimazaki continues to transmit with his own sense from his hometown Amami Oshima.
Everest, the highest mountain in the Himalayas, was called Devadurga in Sanskrit.
It means sacred mountain, the top of the world.
With such a meaning as our own brand name, we continue to propose unique outdoor styles using mud dyeing and indigo dyeing, which are traditional amami crafts from Japan to the world.

What is mud dyeing?
A traditional industry that Amami Oshima, Kagoshima Prefecture is proud of around the world [Oshima Tsumugi]
It is one of the production processes, and the dyeing method has a history of 1,300 years.

It is a technology that dyes everything by hand using the "tati tree" that is naturally available on Amami Oshima island and the iron-rich mud that can only be made in Amami.
Since no chemical dyes are used, there is no harm to the environment, and no allergens are mixed in.
It is a one-of-a-world dyeing method that contains many advantages such as deodorizing effect and insect repellent effect.
