NEW MEDICAL SHIRTS

¥26,400

Product number: 80430010050

"MEDICAL SHIRTS", which is by far the most popular among Nigel Cabourn's shirts, has evolved further

Nigel Cabourn's classic medical shirt has been updated.
By fine-tuning the overall size and removing the shape of the waist,
we have made it a little more comfortable to wear than before.
The design is based on a shirt worn by a doctor who joined the British mountaineering expedition that included Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, who were the first humans to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
A typical shirt has two layers of fabric that overlap only at the back yoke, but this product has a unique structure in which two layers of fabric overlap from the entire circumference of the armhole to the shoulders and back. Masu.
In this way, the parts of the upper body, centering on the arms, which have the greatest amount of movement, are strongly reinforced.
In addition, the arm part from the cuff to the elbow has a double layer structure, making it designed to withstand hard use.
Since the body part is double reinforced, breathability is poor as is.
To cover this, there are 4 chrysanthemum holes on the back and 4 on the sides, which provide ventilation.
It looks like a relatively simple specification, but it means that there are round holes in the fabric.
Fabric is usually made up of warp and weft threads, so a hole that breaks the connection will cause the fabric to break down.
This part is processed using a special sewing machine, and high processing precision is required to make it strong enough to withstand long-term wear.
The buttons are made of cat's eye made from hard coconut.
As the name suggests, there is a sharp cut in the center like a cat's eye.
The thread sinks into the groove of this notch, which is a detail that prevents the button from falling off due to thread breakage.

Who is Nigel Cabourn
British designer Nigel Cabourn is a world-famous collector of vintage military, workwear and outdoor wear. collection.
Inspired by the vintage collection of over 4,000 items he has collected over 30 years, his collections are timeless and reborn into something new.
It is very distinctive that Nigel himself divides his own designs into British production (authentic line) and Japanese production (main line).
The former mainly uses British-derived materials such as Harris Tweed and Ventile, and includes items produced at Mackintosh factories and Scottish knitting factories, while the latter includes unique fabrics that can only be made in Japan. By sorting out items that utilize dyeing and processing techniques that are impossible to achieve, we create a collection that cannot be found anywhere else.
