What is SHAKA?
SHAKA is a sandal brand that was born in South Africa in the 1990s.
At our own factory in South Africa, we produce sandals with high quality and original design with the motif of traditional African knitted footwear.
Sports sandals using webbing tape, which was a trend at the time, incorporating traditional African patterns and colors, began to be sold in Japan in the latter half of the 90's.
Riding on the outdoor boom, both popularity and popularity have grown rapidly, but SHAKA disappeared in the first half of 2000 when the boom ended.
After that, it became popular in the used clothing market as a brand known to those in the know, and due to its shape, it continued to be supported by enthusiasts at festivals and outdoor scenes, and after more than a dozen years, it was a long-awaited reprint.
Rugged sole shape, strong and supple webbing tape, as well as plastic parts are faithfully reproduced, while sports sandals arranged in a modern style with improved cushioning, sole strength, and foot placement. As a result, it is gaining a lot of support not only in the outdoor scene but also in the street scene.
